The Skateboard Mag #60

POSTED January 9, 2009 BY Kevin Wilkins

The place where we get The Skateboard Mag printed is in Minnesota. For those of you following on a map, it’s the tall state at the top, just right of center. Put your finger on it.

I live a little bit down from there. Take the finger you’ve got on Minnesota and slide it a little bit left and down. Stop sliding at the exact center and you’ll be on Nebraska, the best-shaped state in the union.

60covers-1024x624

The Skateboard Mag is delivered one of two ways—by truck or by magic sled. I’ve never seen the sleds (duh … they’re magic), but the trucks are everywhere. Brown ones, blue ones, white ones with red and blue stripes, and even yellow ones with red stripes. Sometime in the last couple days, a guy got in one of those trucks near the top of the map, drove to the center of the map, and then to my house. It’s like a six-hour drive if you speed. Then my doorbell rang.

Bam! New issue.

Skateshops in the Midwest should also have received their copies of #60 by now.

And the rest of the country?

Well, subscribers (U.S. and worldwide) should be receiving their magical sled deliveries any day now. As for the shops … even as you read this, thousands and thousands of trucks are speeding their way across the map toward the coasts and the secure boarders of our southern states. If you take all your fingers and drag them across the map, being careful not to tear it, you can kind of imagine the path that at least ten of the trucks are taking.

If you have less than ten fingers and that visual aide made you feel badly in any way, please just forget that I brought it up and instead think more about the magic sleds.

We just got it, Kev. Awesome issue. Give Ako props from me for the art direction. Nice.
