Zach Wagner and I were skating a bunch for a short stint. He’d pop his head down to my area and we’d go shred around, lerk around South Bay spots (which is always nice). Here is a hurricane he ripped into then back to straight. Just a little quick skate pic for the day, enjoy.
Something magical is going to happen for skateboarding this August 14th-16th in Seattle, WA. Skateboarding will get it’s own Film Festival (which anyone can take part in) with a specific mission to enable, nurture, promote and encourage the next generation of skateboard filmmakers to inspire, lead and entertain the world with their stories and creativity.
Quite simply, it’s intended for the Pat O’Dell’s, Spike Jonze’s, and Ty Evans’ of tomorrow. Oh, they’re out there. They just haven’t been found yet. So, why not give them a platform to showcase their work in front of a live audience?

H.Mathis is one of the greatest people I have been able to meet, and he is in Chicago and has a place called, Believe Inn. I am lucky enough to have a art showing opening there tonight alongside my dear friends, Tim Pigott and Gabe Levinson.
Even HUF had something to say about it.

Here’s the trailer for an upcoming project that I’m been working on… MAKE IT COUNT, The Element Story. This is a biography piece on Element, which delves into its East Coast roots and inception, including Underworld Element’s short-lived existence, which quickly became Element, the brand we know today, and have for nearly two decades.
In creating this project, I followed Johnny Schillereff and dug into his history, quickly getting to the very people that have shaped the company. The trailer gives you a small sense of the diverse community of people interviewed, topics covered, and nostalgia that was un-earthed.
It will be releasing August 1st, but as I continue to clock hours (and days) editing away, I’ll be updating the MAKE IT COUNT page and here too. Expect to see everything from old and new video parts, unseen footage and photos, imagery and nostalgia, behind the scenes photos, video teasers, and raw interview clips.

Ps. Aside from resurrecting the dream-team of artists, editors, film-makers, musicians, and skateboarders, this is the closest thing for all you lovers (and haters) of ON Video. What’s neat is that ON started between Johnny (Schillereff) and myself 10 years ago, so to come full circle today, and continue to work together, is a wonderful thing.
I’ve received my first set of zines (from Randy Laybourne)! I will also be keeping a record of all the zine submissions for the Homework Show on this blog. We’re looking at 60+ artists/writers/photographers who are going to participate in the swap so there’s much great content to come!
