MUMBLE MONTHLY MAILER:

Niku Jaga

POSTED July 1, 2009 BY Eric Nakamura

r00397921People think Japanese folk eat nothing but veggies and fish, but they’re also meat and potatoes people too. Here’s the dish. Niku Jaga.

It literally means meat and potatoes. It’s a common dish in Japan. I made it for the first time, and I’ll report it’s quite easy to make and is a crowd pleaser. Of course, it takes some adjustments to get right. Not enough soysauce, too much cooking sake, mirin, etc. Try this one and eat it over a few days.
