Really excited here in Chico, as my son Cohen’s book of collaborative art was just released! His watercolor paintings were sent to artists ( and many Mumble-ers!) to collaborate on. Years in the making, Chronicle books really knocked it out of the park with the design and editing. Check it out!

My friends at Don’t Sleep Productions have a doozy of a video in the pipeline for this holiday season.

It’s called TENS and in a nutshell it’s ten tricks from each of Canada’s best skateboarders. I art directed it and I’ve seen some rough cuts and holy crap it’s going to be good. I don’t know why nobody has done this format before, but it’s perfect. Add the fact that it’s going to be a free DVD available in skateshops across the country (Canada only, sorry) and I believe we have a winner.

The official word:
“Don’t Sleep Productions is back with their latest offering “Tens”. Tens is a compilation of tricks from 50 of Canada’s best skateboarders featuring 10 tricks each. The rider list includes: Alex Chalmers, Alien, Bradley Sheppard, Brandon Del Bianco, Bryan Wherry, Cory Wilson, Derek Swaim, Deerman of Dark Woods, Hashbrown, Chris Haslam, Chris Connelly, Hill Sulphur, Hugo Balek, Ian Twa, John Hanlon, Jordan Hoffart, Kellen Chillibeck, Magnus Hanson, Matt Berger, Nate Lacoste, Nate Roline, Paul Machnau, Richard Sarrazin, Russ Milligan, Ryan Decenzo, Scott Decenzo, Sean Lowe, Spencer Hamilton, Stacy Gabriel, Paul Trepand many more. It will be available for free across Canada come Christmas so make sure you grab yourself a copy at your local skate shop. just got back Chris Pastras’ board (it’s now pictured and up on the contributor site) for the “Smile on your Brother art show” It’s gonna be joining the physical tour for the next venue (Along with Craig Metzger and Andy Jenkins’ boards) these guys will be late editions to the show but more than worth the wait. There’s a coolvideo/ad on the berrics right now with some footage of Chris making and skating his board here ( at the start of the Josiah vs Ceasar vid) and you can check it out and bid on all the boards  here

The gallery is in Fan Tan Alley, a small alley with various shops in Victoria’s Chinatown.

Phew, after a marathon day it’s (almost) ready to ride. I know I should save my family pictures for a different context but here we are. I still need to reinforce the back and fix the coping. I am a bit like a Dutchman building a ship in a bottle though because moving it to the driveway wasn’t easy. Now for those over-unders…
