Spot On

POSTED April 20, 2010 BY Joe Castro

Exit Philadelphia (the shop/crew behind the DIY Pops Skatepark in Philly) released their first vid this month, Spot On.  Two years to film but time well spent because, ripping skateboarding aside, the thing looks beautiful (hats off to director Phil Gushue on that one).  Definitely not some run of the mill, bro-cam internet footage – lots of weird effects, odd angles at new spots and a sprinkling of grainy 16mm thrown in for a good measure.  And if you’re an older head, like me, and have seen hundreds of videos over the years, you definitely appreciate the breath of fresh air.  The soundtrack’s good too – lot’s of 60′s nuggets peppered in there. Plus it’s always great to see Philly back on the come-up. Anyway, the skating?  Strong parts from Pat Bryan, Jesse Clayton, Bill Pierce, Kyle Frederick, Brain Mollot and Brendan Terry – stoked!  I don’t know – I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing.  Worth checking out.  Peep the trailer below.  Pick up a copy here.
