Maturday Nights!

November 30, 2010

Hi friends,
Wanted to let you know about this event series that I have put together to benefit Grind For Life, a foundation that helps people with cancer.

GFL was created by Mike Rogers, a skateboarder and cancer survivor. Late last year I lost my good friend Mat Arluck to cancer, and he was being helped by Mike and GFL before he passed. After many months of wondering what I could do to keep Mat’s spirit and love for music and skateboarding alive, the answer became obvious: Mat-urday Nights!

The first night of what will be many Maturday Night events is Saturday, December 18th at Hensley’s Pub in Carlsbad, CA. I will be playing vinyl records all night and we’ll be raffling off incredible gifts from some of the greatest brands in skateboarding.

We will also conduct a silent art auction featuring the work of some new, amazing and legendary artists and photographers. All proceeds from the raffle and auction go directly to Grind For Life.

Please join us that night if you can and forward this email to anyone who you think would enjoy a night of music and art. Any help spreading the word is also greatly appreciated!

All the info is below.

Thanks a lot friends, I really appreciate it and so do the people you’re helping!

1975 Weekend Deal – THE WORST IS YET TO COME t-shirt

November 25, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

For once, I’ve actually been taking the time to reflect on how incredibly fortunate my life has been this last year or two. I’ve met so many incredible people, got to work with and meet some of my biggest creative influences, and I’ve been a part of some pretty incredible events.

And now I’m going to spoil that incredible moment of reflection to tell you that I’ve put some stuff on sale in 1975′s online shop.

Everyone’s got sales going on this weekend, and there is nothing better (in my opinion) than the gift of art (okay, the gift of Love is pretty righteous, too!), so to help kick things off, we’re having a small sale in the 1975 online store. Through Sunday at midnight EST, you can get a limited edition Don Pendelton-designed THE WORST IS YET TO COME t-shirt printed on black Tultex® 0202 4.5oz ringspun cotton. The pack includes two buttons from the show, and shipping and tax is included, all for $12 domestically, $15 internationally.

Click the link below to go directly to the sale, and don’t forget to check some of the other amazing works of art on the site! I’m going to be putting more work from local upstate artists on there over the next few weeks as well.

To leave you with something less commercial, this is what I’ll be up to this winter. A few of my buddies and I are going to be documenting our first attempts at surfing in Lake Ontario over the winter. This pic was snapped by a local named Darrell Licata, and he caught me on my first session out where a hooded fullsuit is more than necessary. I’ll be posting more as we get more footage and the weather gets bleaker!

Cheers, everyone!
