Club Mumble has been going strong as an online community of creatives since 2007, and now we’re branching out. Recently we reached out to Club Mumble members, and asked them to nominate someone awesome to join our club.
Well, the nominations are in!
The first new addition to Club Mumble, is Mark Penxa, a super talented guy to say the least. His career in skateboard graphics started when he was a teenager at Woodward, where he showed his first drawings to Mike Ternasky. Since then his work has been highly regarded in the skate and snowboard industries, as he has worked with DC Snowboards and Girl Skateboards, and a handful of other notables.
Mark also has an indie band by the name of “Dark Wave“. You can check out their music video from last year, entitled “Fuck with Fire” here.
And please look out for future posting from Mark, as he’s now an honorary member of Club Mumble.

I’ll be switching back from my usual role as guy behind the scenes to artsy fartist for the next Sweet Meat Co. group extravaganza. We started assembling things Friday night, and here’s the postcard design I put together for the show. Our operating theme is “Post-apocalyptic 50s”, and it’s already shaping up to be a pretty exciting thing in the short week we’ve had to start assembling the installation.
Come on out!

3 prints, each 22" x 30" - 2 color screenprints on 100 lb. archival paper signed and numbered edition of 50
I just added a new print set to the Gift Shop on my site. If you’re a fan of Thrasher, skateboarding, art, or the combination of the three then maybe you care. And if you don’t care, that’s totally cool too. There’s lots of things that I don’t care about as well.
Fellow Mumbler and owner of Science Skateboards, Chris Morgan asked me to do a graphic for his new season and today I got the end result. It was my first attempt at doing a board graphic layout and although the result appears rather simple, for me it took forever. I have an even higher appreciation for folks who do this as their 9-5. Big thanks to Chris for all the help and asking me in the first place.
I decided to dedicate a volume exclusively to analog photography…Presenting the 4th installment of Picturebook!

Since 2010, prolific writer and poet, Mathew Barker has been putting music to his words under the name Water Music. In an incredibly short time, his lonely, yet optimistic songs of heartbreak, death, passion, and the universe took him across the United States. He’s been performing intimate gigs to inspired crowds, and earning him the respect of seasoned musicians the world over.
With early comparisons to both Elliott Smith and Bon Iver, his style is no style; an honesty that resonates through all that listen, and performances built on baring the soul through darkly personal lyrics over sparse rustic guitar chords. It’s a do it yourself philosophy, a hark back to the good ol’ days, when a man could jump a train with a guitar, and find the meaning of his life on a long and lonely road.
Mathew Barker’s latest album is available to download for free at http://watermusic.bandcamp.com
