STUDIO B.I.B

June 24, 2011

Studio B.I.B. is a Toronto based creative space operated by Allister Lee. It specializes in consultation, branding, and graphic work for premier niche retail operations and apparel brands.

Allister recently asked me to make a plush version of his mascot… Here is what I came up with. As a big fan of Allister’s work, and his black and white aesthetics, it was super fun to work on, and I’m really happy with how it materialized.

Check out some of Allister’s amazing illustrations here.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB – MICHAEL C. HSIUNG

June 23, 2011

Club Mumble has been going strong as an online community of creatives since 2007, and now we’re branching out. Recently we reached out to Club Mumble members, and asked them to nominate someone awesome to join our club.

Well, the nominations are in!

Considering his substantial lack of body hair (except for, of course his mustache), Michael C. Hsiung likes to draw lots of hairy men, and comical hairy animals in slapstick scenarios. Underlying themes of violence and danger, mixed with humor, leaves you unsure if you should be laughing or crying with his work. Beside his amazing illustrations, highly sought after zines, and limited edition prints and shirts, Michael just happens to be one of the raddest people I have had the privilege to meet.

We feel very lucky to have Michael C. Hsiung on board and a part of the club, so please welcome him as our newest honorary member of Club Mumble.

RAW BEEF: YUM

June 23, 2011

I don’t have an oven or stovetop where I live. As a result, I’ve experimented with some recipes that require neither. Microwave ’til I die.

RAMMELLZEE At The Museum of Contemporary Art

June 23, 2011

I was completely awed by what the Rammellzee Estate and Suzanne Geiss put together for The RAMM:ELL:ZEE Room at MOCA Los Angeles. If you haven’t already, I suggest you experience it. That dude is radical. Check the video here. Thanks to some sort of generous concession from Banksy’s patrons, you can visit the exhibit without an entry fee on Mondays. Free Mondays at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA will be every Monday, from 11am to 5pm, June 13 through August 8, 2011.
