Art & Copy

May 5, 2009

george lois

I went to a little marketing thing last week, which was surprisingly not that terrible! One of the speakers there was David Baldwin, the executive producer of Art & Copy.  This is a documentary that explores some of the advertising industry’s pioneers like George Lois.  It seems pretty interesting…  I’m not sure if any one has seen it yet, but if you have, let me know what you think!

In case you haven’t seen the trailer for it yet, you can peep it here.

Fucked Up on Fox News

February 11, 2009

Okay, this is a bit late but still pretty neat.
Our friends from Fucked Up were on Fox News a while ago, which you can watch here. Who would’ve thought! Catch Damian lamenting on jazz flutes, gender studies and blood on stage. I’m not sure if you can see it – but he’s also wearing a Black Bart Simpson shirt. Does anyone remember when these first popped up and it was really awesome?
Fucked Up is still on tour so if you’re in America, you should come to their show!

Arts & rap

January 11, 2009

Oh, hey there.

I’ve got first post anxiety, which is probably why I’ve been putting this off for a while. It’s kind of similar to imagining what if Shawn Bradley or Jack Haley had been asked to join the USA Men’s Olympic Dream Team during the nineties. “Oh, really are you sure you have the right person? No, seriously.” Regardless, I feel really humbled to be a part of this project which involves a lot of my favorite people. Double high fives to Bob K. for inviting me.

Since I don’t really have any extra awesome work related news right now, here’s a little neat thing from Christmas. Sorry, folks, bare with me as I’m still stuck in the holiday vortex.

Behold: The WU-CLAVA aka the RAPCLAVA because we all know that winter ain’t nothin’ to fuck wit’
I made this for my pal Geoff Clifford (speaking of which, everyone should check out his epic article about 72 hours on a Greyhound bus in Color 6.6) because it’s extra cold in the east, and, well no one likes getting leather face. Next on the agenda, a Menace one since I still have lots of yarn left.

Thank you sincerely to Paula Zeller for the awesome photo of it being worn as I’m incapable of taking any pics outside of using my phone as you can tell from the blurry image above.
