After hearing about this project from Jeff Hamada, I recently hosted a screening of the video An Island, filmed by Vincent Moon about the amazing band Efterklang. This film is certainly an inspiring look at how important sound is to regional cultures. They are now releasing a limited edition DVD/EP designed by Hvass&Hannibal featuring the photos by Antje Taiga Jandrig packaged in a custom-made cover printed by Stumptown Printers in Portland, Oregon.

The DVD is limited to 5000 copies and they are all individually numbered. The cover holds a 35 page booklet with lots of photos along with background info written by Efterklang. When ordering the DVD you get the new EFTERKLANG EP ‘Live at Roskilde Festival 2010? as a bonus! An Island is also available digitally after the Pay-What-You-Want model. Juice Magazine headquarters in Venice was home to a recent supergroup art show that was organized to benefit Mrs. Babette Ho, the wife of Jeff Ho. Check the video for interviews with the artists, including myself. Click here for more.

Friend of the family and magenta psychedelia master, Pinkyvision sent me this short video of him describing the inspiration behind his latest collaboration with Flip Skateboards. My favorites? Most definitely Arto’s and Geoff’s boards. Now that’s full circle Flip, folks!

I was completely awed by what the Rammellzee Estate and Suzanne Geiss put together for The RAMM:ELL:ZEE Room at MOCA Los Angeles. If you haven’t already, I suggest you experience it. That dude is radical. Check the video here. Thanks to some sort of generous concession from Banksy’s patrons, you can visit the exhibit without an entry fee on Mondays. Free Mondays at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA will be every Monday, from 11am to 5pm, June 13 through August 8, 2011.

Space 15Twenty is hosting a charitable art exhibit and auction over the next two weeks. The roster is chock-full of great artists, designers, and one dweeb. You should go check it out!
