IT WAS ON EARTH THAT I KNEW JOY
Last month I paid a VISIT to the Deluxe warehouse to peek around Tommy Guererro’s office. He was kind enough to pull out piles of correspondence from Mark Gonzales, Thomas Campbell and unused album art from Natas. Recently, on May 5th, Equal Distribution released a new shirt by Mr. G., only 50 were made so if you dig it, get it now - HERE.
Andy Mueller and Jennifer Pitt are having a nice end of season sale over at The Quiet Life. Go on over and pick up some radness before it’s all gone. Radness is a rare commodity and it’s running out faster than oil so get some before you are forced to buy the eco-friendly version - neatness. While other companies are satisfied with neatness, The Quiet Life is all about radness.

Otto & Spike have been knitting in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia for the last 40 years, and were part of a burgeoning scene…
Picture Australian youth in Melbourne during the 1970’s, influenced by ska and mods. I’m talking about The Sharpies; clad in Levi’s and custom sweaters, wearing mullets and new-age hairdos. Sharpies focused on looking sharp, which is where their name came from. They were known for trying to outdo one another by customizing their clothes and cardigans.

Although Otto & Spike are still going strong today, gone are the days when they made custom cardigans for the Sharpies. Today you will find a company that prides themselves on using the finest lambs wool from Australia and New Zealand, and still using some of the traditional knitting machinery from a time where computers weren’t needed.
Recently I was invited to create a collection for Otto & Spike. Since I love to ride my bike every day, I wanted to design something for people that also share that love. Here are the scarves I recently did, and should be in stores soon for those in Australia, Canada & Japan.

Steven Vogel interviews the creative director of St. Pauli FC over at The Reference Council and talks about the history of Europe’s most notorious soccer club and the idea of what it takes to build a streetwear brand without falling into the pitfalls of a traditional brand.

A little while back I made THIS post about Veilance from Arc’teryx on another blog that I do. Veilance is a capsule collection that contains a few interpretations of menswear classics combined with some of the state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques that Arc’teryx is famous for. A piece from this line would make an incredible gift if you’re buying for a dude who appreciates quality and is looking for something to keep him protected from the elements of winter while looking good. As the prices reflect the quality the pieces ain’t cheap but are worth every penny.

These two pieces above were gifted to me a couple weeks back and my jaw is still hanging wide open; they are by far, hands down, the best two pieces of clothing that I own right now.
