CHUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER

March 1, 2010

chunder_downunder

I made this guy to celebrate Australia Day, which was on January 26th, so my apologies for the delayed post, but better late than never.

His name is Chunder From Down Under. The term chunder apparently came from the original sea-man’s term, “watch under”. They would shout this in order to warn people in the lower cabins of a ship of puke coming from above.

Although it isn’t a common term used in the United States (something I am hoping to change), you may have heard in the chorus of the infamous song “Land Down Under” by Men At Work!!

Happy Monday.

Welcome to the Wild International, Mark Ward Print Release

December 29, 2009

The Wild International shop opened for business a few weeks ago, and I sort of lagged on posting the good news. The debut offering is this print by London artist Mark Ward. Be sure to keep an eye on the blog and store for upcoming releases at http://thewildinternational.com/wordpress/

About the Mark Ward print for The Wild International
“Mark Ward is a killer artist based in London. He’s done more to shape youth culture through his work than most of the people out will realize, and he likes to keep it that way. His work is internationally renowned, respected and well, bad ass. Mark is a great skater, snowboarder, beer drinker and friend. We are all very happy that Mark agreed to make this print for us – actually, his first, and all the better for it.”

Yong-ki is Cool

December 29, 2009

Every now and then an oddly shaped box shows up at the door and we immediately know that it is something special. My good friend Yong-Ki from Solitary Arts sent me this skateboarding history gem, and I am waaay grateful for it because it is a deadstock resurrection of my very first Free Former skateboard that was the catalyst in teaching me the ways of the skate. It’s pretty awesome to ride on one of these again- and I was surprised by the reminder that skate technology has come a very long way. Thanks again Yong-Ki! Get one of these happymakers at SolitaryArts.com

Couture Comedy

December 20, 2009

jz

Jonathan Zawada is hands down my favorite Australian artist and he has done it again with his take on Couture Comedy.

It started with Jonathan’s blog FASHEMATICS, A mathematical breakdown of couture fashion that will leave you in stitches!

To celebrate the 50th Fashematics equation, Jonathan Zawada has illustrated a rad new ‘zine featuring soulless robots and brainless zombies in our favorite runway looks of spring.

You will find enviable garments of Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Bernard Willhelm adorned unstoppable robots about to take over the future and a horde of relentless rotting corpses.

With a limited edition of 200 signed and numbered copies, it’s a must have collectable item.

Buy them here!

Doe SF

December 2, 2009

doe

The Doe shop in S.F. has a great selection of hand made items and all sorts of great products made by some great people and companies. Recently my better half, Lisa Romero dropped off some new painted and drawn creations. If you are in the area, check the place out. They also have a small selection of chocolate raddness. Never would have thought bacon would be good in dark chocolate.
