Like skateboards, tee shirts and other things that you can put on your body? Well, if you’re in the LA area on Saturday check this out. Stacks, Heel Bruise and The Quiet Life (their new line is up on their site) are having a BBQ and blow-out sale. Get the goods before they are gone.
I don’t normally work with video, but my friend Justin Clowes and I recently co-directed a music vid for up and coming Philly rapper Zilla Rocca’s new single, Full Spectrum. We shot the whole thing on super 8 film in Asbury Park, NJ, the day after Hurricane Irene blew through town, leaving a few spots without power and more than a couple of trees knocked down. Asbury ‘s a cool town – pinball museum, paranormal museum, the Wonder Bar, good pizza – and provided a pretty cool backdrop for a rag-tag group of misfits running around it’s streets with outdated super 8 film cameras. People were friendly and the towns got a good vibe. Good times, good times. The song features a guest verse by Has-Lo and is taken from his Nights and Weekends EP, which is definitely worth checking out. Hope you dig it

Since the start of the year I have been working for Skateboarding Australia (SbA) which is a government funded body implemented to promote and grow skateboarding in our country. More about us here. Aside from being head judge for their Am Series and Pro/Am Tour (curated by Aussie legend Andrew Currie) I have been updating their website’s blog and features.
Including:
Feature interviews with Aussie luminaries such as Chima, Tommy Fynn, Steve Gourlay, Reece Warren, Joel McIlroy and Jack Fardell.
Chinwags with Andrew Brophy, Paul Brabenec and Trent Evans.
There are a bunch of video based regulars as well:
A to Bs with Barry Mansfield, and Dave “Battlecat” Harris
Lost Tapes with Daniel Cardone.
What’s Crackin’ with Nathan Jackson
Recons on the new Belconnen and Nimbin parks.
We also do historical pieces like
Flashbacks with Brett Margaritis, Matt Mumford, Davo and Lee Ralph.
and Video Vaults with Al Boglio, Wade Burkitt (pictured above), Cale Nuske, Tas Pappas, Dustin Dollin and Lewis Marnell.
There are wrap-ups on comps such as Shocklands and the Goldy Grail.
Hope you enjoy this little package of top shelf antipodean skateboarding.
Below you will find a selection of images from the site.

Love em or hate em, there is no denying that these things are effing fun! Check the video here.
My friend and fellow Element advocate, Sarah Larnach, lives over in New Zealand, where there was some pretty gnarly earthquakes not so long ago. Here is an email that she sent out about this painting that she has donated which is currently being auctioned…
“Hello!
‘The giant moa has been extinct for about 250 years, but these massive birds were once the worlds largest. I’ve painted this moa in the style of a museum taxidermy guide, for my Wonder Cabinet (Wunderkammer) series. The special detail in this painting is the wishbone (which would be about 50cm tall on a Moa) , here symbolically painted in gold for hope and good wishes. This is the first original piece in this series to go up for sale.
I’m a supporter of anything that Mike Watt puts together, and so needless to say, I was beyond happy when he told me he was releasing a new Dos album through Clenched Wrench Records. If you don’t know, you should find out. Check the video here.
@kellytwittiams @clubmumble I did these a while back but just barely getting around to posting them. Pick one up while they last at hippykiller.com or distrikt.us
