Stopped short by cops on horses during the late afternoon magical hours, the young black man then adjourned, not to somewhere else in LA, but managed to be put in his place once again in a small area by a payphone. After the cops had stopped him 12 hours prior he then went back to lying in the middle of vine street right in front of everyone that walked by him. As I went to the gas station though, I witnessed and took pictures of him totting his comforter across vine street in hollywood while a huge cavalcade of autos waited for him to complete doing. To tell you the truth I wouldn’t want to do that. i’ve slept in a sleeping bag behind some bushes a few times, but I would not want to drag my bedding across vine street right down the middle of the hollywood district and cause about 20 cars to slow down as if you were a red light. I am glad though that he has now chosen the east side of vine street once again, and am looking forward to seeing what new creative nooks and open sidewalks he chooses next in the general neighborhood. I like the rare one time when for a few days he was seen over by the side of the church on la mirada. At least he wasn’t in everyone’s face that head to the few bars in the area.

Last month I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Greg ‘PNut’ Galinsky at his place in S.F. He had some new pieces hanging around, he was getting ready to put some in storage so I lucked out and got a great look at a good amount of his work. More photos over HERE at COLOR Mag.

Remember last year when we helped turn legendary skate photographer Grant Brittain pro? This year we’ve teamed up with Emerica and The Skateboard Mag to bestow another honor upon another well-deserving human who has done immeasurable good for the skateboard industry.

This past Saturday night we bestowed the honorary title of “Professional Skateboarder” upon brand wizard and mentor-to-many, former Emerica brand/team manager turned Altamont conductor, Justin Regan! You probably don’t know this but as well as being the founding editor of Club Mumble I also do a hyperlocal web site that focuses on the city I love, Vancouver BC Canada. The site is called Vancouver Is Awesome and essentially we talk about all things that makes the place, well, you know. Awesome.
